Complexity of multiagent BDI logics with restricted modal context
We present and discuss a novel language restriction for modal logics for multiagent systems that can reduce the complexity of the satisfiability problem from EXPTIME-hard to NPTIME-complete. In the discussion we focus on a particular BDI logic, called TeamLog, which is a logic for modelling cooperating groups of agents and which possesses some of the characteristics typical to other BDI logics....
متن کاملModal Logics for Reasoning about Multiagent Systems
It becomes evident in recent years a surge of interest to applications of modal logics for specification and validation of complex systems. It holds in particular for combined logics of knowledge, time and actions for reasoning about multiagent systems (Dixon, Nalon & Fisher, 2004; Fagin, Halpern, Moses & Vardi, 1995; Halpern & Vardi, 1986; Halpern, van der Meyden & Vardi, 2004; van der Hoek & ...
متن کاملInteraction Modal Logic for multiagent systems based on BDI architecture
The purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual model of multiagent system composed of a set of BDI agents based on role modeling and modal logic of interaction. Agents perform actions taking roles within a scenario that obeys a plan conformed for a set of goals and establishes relations between the participants. These plans and relations define interactions between agents. All interaction...
متن کاملBDI Logics
This paper presents an overview of so-called BDI logics. Starting out from the basic ideas about BDI by Bratman, we consider various formalizations in logic, such as the approach of Cohen and Levesque, slightly remodelled in dynamic logic, Rao & Georgeff’s influential BDI logic based on the branching-time temporal logic CTL*, the KARO framework and BDI logic based on stit (seeing to it that) lo...
متن کاملBDI : An Alternating-time BDI Logic for Multiagent Systems
Many logics for modelling beliefs, desires and intentions of agents, such as Rao and Georgeff’s BDI logic and Wooldridge’s LORA, are based on temporal logics like CTL/CTL∗ (Computational Tree Logic) in which the structure of time is branching in the future and linear in the past. Recently, many attempts have been made to define logics for BDI agents by using extensions of CTL. In this paper, we...
